KidsArtCamp is a 5 day Art Camp that covers a wide range of traditional art skills, taught to your child by Artist and Oak Hill Elementary Art Teacher, Kevin Monaghan.
2014 Kids Art Camp Curriculum
Artists will: 1. Paint two 16x20 acrylic paintings based their own ideas and interests. *** 2. Use Apple I Pad to experience photography and digital art making through various art based application (apps) based on drawing, painting, and the creative process. (Animal Origami, ColorBook, Daily Monster, Origami, SpinArt+, Art Set, and Pottery HD). 3. Learn and apply traditional paper folding techniques to create Origami. 4. Use traditional hand building techniques to learn and create with Clay. 5. Design and create your own T-shirt. 6. Daily sketching and our Second Annual "Art Work and Ice Cream" project with the Franklin Farm Baskin Robbins store. and more!
***Mr. Monaghan will assist students to develop and refine ideas for their paintings, however it is helpful for you child if you provide them with pictures from home about ideas or images that are meaningful and special to them and your family. (sports, family, vacations, pets, hero's, hobbies, flowers, animals, bugs, trucks, unicorns, etc.)
Come join the fun, making art for your community, and have a free ice cream courtesy of Kids Art Camp and Baskin Robbins. Artwork will be on public display from Aug 18th - Aug. 23rd.
Friday Art Show Each Friday, students will host a formal "Art Show" to display the fruits of their labor to friends and family. Art Shows begin a half hour before each class ends. All are welcome!
Recommended ages: 7 and up Students will paint with Acrylic paints on a 16 x 20 canvas, using pallets to mix paints colors and wooden easels to hold their canvas while they work. A real Artistic experience.
Kids Art Camp Location The ***NEW***Kids Art Camp Studio is located at 14231 Willard Road, Chantilly, Va 20151, next to Sandy Spring Bank. We are very excited for our new studio location.
