Kids Art Camp is a 5 day Art Camp that covers a wide range of traditional art skills, taught to your child by Artist and Oak Hill Elementary Art Teacher, Kevin Monaghan.

Whats new this summer?
New this summer, students at Kids Art Camp will be using Apple’s Ipad 2, as a way to explore digital art applications that include Drawing, Painting, Photography and Color Theory.  Each student in the class will have daily access to their own Ipad as Mr. Monaghan introduces several kid based, Art “apps” that students can use to explore the world of Digital Art.  During the week, students will also be putting their skills to work as they create two original paintings on 16 x 20 artist canvas and explore the more traditional forms art making that includes Perspective Drawing, Silhouetting and Origami. While traditional instruction for drawing and painting will be provided daily, this Summer's Kids Art Camp has expanded significantly to provide a broad Art Experience for all ages, interests and skill.

Mr. Monaghan will assist students to develop ideas for their creations, however it is helpful for you child if you provide them with pictures from home about ideas or images that are meaningful and special to them and your family.  (sports, family, vacations, pets, hero's, hobbies, flowers, animals, bugs, trucks, unicorns, etc.)
Friday Art Show
Each Friday, students will host a formal "Art Show" to display the fruits of their labor to friends and family. Art Shows begin a half hour before each class ends.  All are welcome!

Recommended ages: 7 and up
Students will paint with Acrylic paints on a 16 x 20 canvas, using pallets to mix paints colors and wooden easels to hold their canvas while they work.  A real Artistic experience.  "KidsArtCamp" aprons will be provided for each student to keep.
